Paul picked a side in a top Senate primary. (Bill Clark/CQ Roll Call File Photo)
Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., offered an endorsement on Wednesday to a tea party activist running for the GOP Senate nomination in North Carolina — a top pickup opportunity for Republicans.
Physician Greg Brannon, one of several Republicans vying to take on Democratic Sen. Kay Hagan, touted the endorsement from the conservative senator and potential presidential contender as a momentum boost for the campaign. The campaign’s announcement referred to Brannon as “an anti-establishment candidate … who will oppose the Big Government, big spending status quo in both parties.”
When EBT card users determined that their Electronic Cards had no bottom, they kept on spending.

THIS IS A VERY WELL PUT VIDEO AND EXPLAINS GUN CONTROL IN A VERY
SIMPLE WAY????? ENJOY
The best video I’ve seen regarding violence and the real reason the advocates want gun control.
This is why we MUST get rid of Roy Cooper…. !!!
GREG BRANNON, who will be running for Kay Hagan’s Senate seat in 2014 presented a different speech than the typical campaigner at the Polk County Republican Headquarters. Unlike other speakers, he knows the United States Constitution backwards and forwards. It was refreshing to hear how he interprets the current shenanigans in the fight over ObamaCare and raising the debt limit.
Greg reminded me of Ted Cruz and Mike Lee. He wants our party to return to following the US Constitution. Most of the the problems we are experiencing today can be better understood when someone who understands and can articulate the truth makes it clear. He speaks very fast, so you really have to listen to hang on to what he is saying. I believe I can say that the majority of the attendees felt Greg should be our representative to replace Kay Hagan in the United States Senate.
Greg was the first member in his family to go to college, earning a scholarship to the University of Southern California, where he received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Biological Science in 1982; his Medical Degree from the Chicago Medical School in 1988; his OB/GYN Residency was performed at Los Angeles County/ USC Women’s Hospital in 1992; and he was a Clinical Professor at UNC/Wake AHEC from 1993-1994 before opening his OBGYN practice in Cary, NC in 1993.
Strongly committed to the sanctity of life, Greg is a Board Member of Hand of Hope, a pregnancy support group in Fuquay-Varina, NC, and is a member of AAPLOG, an organization of pro-life OBGYN doctors.
I would suggest that you learn as much as you can about Dr. Brannon. He is going to be a very effective contender.
Here is a spoof on ObamaCare. It is targeting the younger uninsured demographic.
Here’s what Boehner should do as Speaker:
Bring the bills to the floor under regular order to fund government departments at the level of existing tax revenue and no more. In other words, fund programs such that there will be a zero deficit. Pass those bills and send them to the Senate.
Then adjourn “sine die” and go home!
Now the Senate has a choice — they cannot amend because there is no House to take up the amended legislation. The options are now between a balanced budget and one that runs a surplus (should they not pass all of the bills.)
Again, Obama has the same choice — can choose between only a balanced budget and a budget surplus.
There is no need for a debt ceiling increase, because there will be no deficit.
The House stands adjourned until after the midterm elections.
Simple, clean, Constitutional and it balances the budget.
Right here, right now.
DO IT BOEHNER.
PS: Yes, I have read Article I Section 5. Neither the White House or the US Supreme Court cares what that document says, however, given Obamacare being “rewritten” by the USSC as a direct tax — which is black-letter unconstitutional. Therefore, you can obtain the same effect by “not really adjourning” as the Senate has done countless times to prevent recess appointments, holding only pro-forma sessions — the result is the same as if you adjourned “sine die” on a formal basis. And incidentally, that was challenged with the recess appointments, if you remember, and Obama lost on the claim that this tactic by the Senate was impermissible. It is thus available to the House as well.
Federal Budget: “Use It or Lose It”
October 7, 2013
Last week, while Congress fought over next year’s budget, federal workers were immersed in a separate frantic drama. They were trying to spend the rest of 2012’s budget before it was too late, says the Washington Post.
Obamacare Will Increase Avg. Individual-Market Insurance Premiums By 99% For Men, 62% For Women.
Worst off is North Carolina, which will see individual-market rates triple for women, and quadruple for men.
The real question isn’t how many people enroll: it’s what kind of people enroll. Two-thirds of the uninsured in America are under the age of 40. What will be the average age of an enrollee on the exchanges?
If most enrollees were born before or during the Nixon administration, start worrying.
The United States of America (1787-2013?) is in danger of coming to a swift and sudden end as the government entered its third day of the shut down. The nation which had survived Pearl Harbor, the War of 1812 and Jimmy Carter may cease to exist at any moment.
Without firm leadership the savage population, which had only been kept in line through a policy of rigorous gun confiscations, food stamps and Green Energy programs unleashed its pent up rage in a spree of riots, looting and mass murder that had only previously been encountered in Somalia.
“The government shut down! We can do anything we like,” shouted Sam Hasbley of Grassley, Iowa, while tearing the tag off a mattress despite an explicit warning label forbidding such a dangerous course of action. “Tear yours off. The government is shut down. It can’t stop you.” Eyewitnesses spoke of further horrors. On a quiet street in suburban Massachusetts, a man brought out a set of previously controlled, illegal lawn darts. In Maryland, there were allegations that an entire family in violation of decades old H.O.A. agreements had begun digging ditches to collect rainwater runoff.
With the fall of the government, citizen activists took it upon themselves to immanentize the eschaton of lawlessness. Men played Gibson guitars made of wood imported from India, but not finished by Indian workers. Women bought cold medicine without a photo ID. Children went hours without hearing lectures about the environment.
The victims were many. In Chuckolod County, Colorado, a transgender person was denied access to the Ladies Room. Frantic calls to the Justice Department were forwarded to an answering service in Depar, India, instead of Doneparre City, Indiana. In Brooklyn, New York, an overweight Senegalese woman was unable to obtain a sign language interpreter while waiting on line to collect her free Obamaphone. In Olegon Falls, Oregon, the National Museum of Native American Yarn was forced to shut down depriving schoolchildren of an educational experience and three hours throwing bits of yarn at each other.
And there was worse to come.
The entire city of Detroit was seized by the Ontario Militia backed by Canadian air and naval power and the Windsor Sanitation Department. The village of Frankfurt, Illinois passed several ordinances in explicit violation of Title MXVIII of the Federal Charter of Approved Fruit Naming Ordinances. North Dakota seceded and declared that it was now the nation of Bismarckia, elected a Kaiser and petitioned to join OPEC.
An army of Mongols or possibly local residents dressed in Viking Samurai helmets raided the Federal Dried Peach Reserve in Georgia hauling away thousands of tons of dried fruit and tossed them to waiting crowds. The end of food stamps in Martho, New Jersey led to an outbreak of cannibalism despite efforts by ACORN volunteers to bring order to the proceedings by soliciting volunteers to give up their privilege and be fed to the people.
In Massey Hills, Virginia, a gang of politically incorrect sports mascots entered a workplace and implicitly hurt the feelings of several minorities. Their calls to the Justice Department were forwarded to Eric Holder’s private voicemail along with frequent messages from his coke dealer demanding to be paid, like right now, and requests for weapons manuals from several Mexican cartel bosses.
In Madison, Wisconsin, the entire United Organized Educators and Librarians Union attempted to commit mass suicide on the front lawn of the Madison Center of Union History to protest budget cuts and school closings. Their efforts proved in vain when the gasoline they poured on themselves in a failed attempt at self-immolation turned out to be apple juice. In Caplow City, Maine, President Gerald Ford, long thought dead and believed to have been buried in Michigan, appeared and declared himself to be the nation’s new leader. While some suspect him to be an impostor based on the plastic texture of his mask which has a hastily erased message reading “Impeach Nixon” on the side, the city fathers have chosen to embrace the possibilities offered by Emperor Ford and have set him up in style in a presidential palace on the eight floor of the Caplow Arms Hotel.
In the midst of all this chaos, a weary nation’s eyes turn to Washington D.C. But since the shutdown, which also shut off all power, water and press releases to the embattled city, no word has reached the outside world of what is taking place there. The last message was a smoke signal dispatched by Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Cherokee) from the roof of a burning Capitol Building. An expert in Native American smoke and mirror signals decoded it to read, “I told you so. Now we’re all doomed.”
The only surviving member of the national government outside the dead zone is believed to be Vice President Joseph Biden who showed up on a beach in Waddiddi, Florida, where he has spent hours entertaining himself by building an elaborate 1/100 scale model of the White House out of sand. Attempts to inform him that the tide was coming in have fallen on deaf ears.
As the nation descends into chaos, one thing is clear. The government shutdown has once again doomed us all. Just like the last 17 times.
Day 3 and website is still not working . . .
Regardless of where you stand on the shut down, and regardless of who you support in the upcoming primary for US Senate, I want to share a video with you to show you how important it is to replace Kay Hagan. We need a majority of the Senate. We can’t even fund cancer research for children? This is what we are up against so long as Harry Reid is calling the shots. When you hear anyone talk about our side is no better than their side, show them this video. Even when you disagree with occasional votes from our representatives, at least you know they did not vote to put this man in charge of the Senate.
There is no question that we are going to get beaten up in the press over the shutdown. The other side may be in control of the press, but we can still spread the word on what the other side is doing. We need to support our Republican legislators through this, as they are getting attacked from both sides. If we want to defeat Kay Hagan, we need to stand united, regardless of your preferred approach to the debt ceiling issues.
As we see, even without any money to fund Obamacare, it is still the law, and we had some major changes for our nation this week. Defunding a law does not overturn it. Hopefully, our legislators can find a way to overturn or delay some of the most damaging aspects in the near future. What we need to focus on is the efforts by our GOP legislators to fund the government along with their efforts to save hard working citizens from having skyrocketing insurance premiums. Make sure you point out the GOP’s willingness to talk and compromise, while the other side insists on all or nothing. The above video link is great evidence of that.
Please share this information. We need to get the word out!
The www.healthcare.gov web site is still not operational….
I just waited for several minutes and never got to the login page… Never got on yesterday either.
How much ($$$) was spent on this and didn’t they have 3+ years to work on getting this right?
Someone needs to be FIRED!!
Many “someone’s” !!!
We hosted a Fish Fry and Gun Raffle at the Meeting Place in Columbus, NC September 28th.
It was a successful event. Most of the people came as a result of word-of-mouth, friends, or the big sign that we had on the turnabout. The sign really worked!
We left the Meeting Place in excellent, clean shape. We picked up our trash and mopped the floors.

Bill Maher takes on the California-bashers. Nobody skewers the daffiest of the Republicans like Maher does, or defends his point of view more ably — definitely worth a click…
“The “wall of debt” is not $35 billion. The Wall of debt doesn’t include unfunded pension and medical liability – and that wall of debt is NOT included in the budget According to the State Budget Crisis Task Force report that was issued in January, California’s debt ranges from a minimum of $167 billion to a staggering $335 billion.”
July unemployment increased to 8.7%, above national average.
Despite having the highest gas prices at the pump than any other state , Reason Foundation’s 20th annual highway report ranked California roads 47th in the nation.
When you look at the state-by-state rankings of public-school test scores. California continues to place near the bottom.
There is not an exact number ( the agenda would never allow such data) but experts call it around 3 million illegal residents living in the state.
California as having the highest poverty level (23.5 percent) of any state in the union. A state with roughly 12 percent of the U.S. population is now home to 33 percent of the nation’s welfare recipients. ( 2012 census)
Los Angeles County, two years in a row , has spent 600 million in welfare on illegal immigrants!
