Our Nation’s Debt

Debt and Destiny

The debt of the U.S. federal government debt currently is $19.4 trillion and it continues to rise by the minute.

Debt has doubled in the last eight years as this graph from the Federal Reserve of St. Louis shows.

Who holds all of this debt?

$5.4 trillion of the debt is referred to as intragovernmental debt. These debt holdings result when various government trust funds, revolving funds and special funds lend money to the federal treasury to fund current operations. The remaining $14 trillion is referred to as public debt and is held by individuals, corporations, mutual funds, the Federal Reserve, state and local and foreign governments.

The Henderson County NC County Commission unanimously

Passed a resolution rejecting Federal Refugee Settlement programs. They further called upon Governor McCrory to reject Federal Refugee programs for the entire state and on North Carolina’s Federal and State
Legislators to do the same. Congressman Mark Meadows of NC District 11 has already taken a strong position against refugee settlements in the 11th District.

We owe them a huge thank you.

Let us hope that it sets an example for all of North Carolina and the entire nation.

The Absurdity of it All

Today, I placed my Glock 22 pistol on the table right next to my front door. I left its clip beside it, then left it alone  and went about my business.

While I was gone, the mailman delivered my mail, the neighbor’s son across the street mowed the yard, a girl walked her dog down the street, and quite a few cars stopped at the “stop” sign near the front of my house.

After about an hour, I checked on the gun. It was quietly sitting there, right where I had left it.

It had not moved itself outside. It had not killed anyone. Certainly, even with the numerous opportunities it had presented to do that. In fact, it had not even  loaded itself.

Well you can imagine my surprise, with all the hype by the Left and the media, about how dangerous guns are and “How They” kill people. Either the media is wrong, or I’m in possession of the laziest gun in the world.

The United States is 3rd in murders throughout the world. But if you take out just 5 ‘left-wing’ cities: Chicago, Detroit, Washington DC, St Louis and New Orleans — the United States is 4th from the bottom, in the ENTIRE world, for murders.

These 5 cities are controlled by Democrats. They also have the toughest gun control laws in the USA. It would be absurd to draw any conclusions from this data, right?

Well, I’m off to check on my spoons. I hear they’re making people fat!

Jody Ray Thompson (Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office)

Spartanburg County Sheriff’s deputies told WHNS-TV Thompson almost hit a fourth person — who just so happens to be a concealed carry permit holder.

Lt. Kevin Bobo said that the man pulled out his own gun in self defense and fired back at Thompson, hitting him in the leg.

The concealed carry permit holder, who hasn’t been named, cooperated with investigators and won’t be facing any charges stemming from the 3:30 a.m. incident, WHNS reported.

“Thompson was still on the scene when deputies arrived, but the initial scene was chaotic,” Bobo added to the station. “It wasn’t until victims and witnesses were interviewed and video from the scene was reviewed that Thompson was identified as the suspect.”

Thompson, 32, was charged with four counts of attempted murder, possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime, and unlawful carrying of a weapon, WHNS said, adding that he was being held at the Spartanburg County Detention Center.

Bobo told the station that none of the shooting victims’ injuries were life threatening.
